The tobacco plantations have all gone and been replaced with something much better. Vines!
The very pretty Ovens Valley with towns like Bright, Porepunkah and Myrtleford are now home to rail trails and some great cellar doors, many with breathtaking views of Mt Buffalo and the mountain ranges.
A diverse range of excellent cool climate wines can be found in the Alpine Valley, from the smaller operators to the largest.
A visit to all is a must.
