King River Estate

A couple of wines in I was thinking “Oh God I am going to have to buy a sympathy bottle!” You know the one where you don’t really like any of their wines but feel obligated to purchase something. And since I was the only one there, there would be no escaping.
Though the whites wines were not for my taste the reds knocked it out of the park! My mood had changed the tempo lifted and once again I was excited, asking questions and tasting some glorious reds. Like many wineries of the region, King River has both the traditional styles as well as an Italian range of wines plus one unusual Russian red variety called Saperavi. My host, I assume owner/winemaker was great and it was the chance to try many styles that I enjoyed so much, like a superb Sangiovese, a banging Barbera and a cracking Cabernet. Go because you may like the whites, but for red wine lovers this is a definite must see, or a must drink.
Not that I care (I only want wines that taste great) but many wines are biodynamic, if that’s you thang!
